CHAIRMANS REPORT 2007-2008
Dear Member,
I would like to
thank all the members for your continued support during this last year and to
bring to your attention the very successful year that our organisation has
achieved.
Below I have outlined
the many successes of the fourth year of Llanelli Community Heritage.
- Producing Llanelli Blue Plaque
Guide
Book (Llanelli Town Council provided £500).
- Completed Communities First Se
aside
grant (£4.557.24). ( Interpretive Pan
el and
5 blue plaques).
- Acquired Communities First Bwlch Y Gwynt grant
(£4.630)
for 1Heritage Panel and 2 Blue Plaques working with Bwlch
Y Gwynt Lost Community Group.
- Awards for All Wales (£5
000) for
display equipment completed.
- Blue Plaques 10 installed or o
rdered
and a further 7 sponsored.
- 5 exhibition events supporting
Communities First Felinfoel and Glanmor & Tyisha

- Numerous talks to schools and
Community groups.
- Heritage Interpretive Panels 6
installed and 1 in the planning.
- Charles Church has offered fun

a blue plaque and small interpretive panel at Bry

Over the
last four
years Llanelli Community Heritage has installed 6 Interpretive Panels (with
one
in the planning) and 36 blue plaques. 2007-2008 has been our most successful
year with 64 articles in the Llanelli Star and the 1 Fund Runners Up Award
for
Tourism and Craft..
Mr Huw Edwards, the
BBC News Presenter has agreed to become our President.
